Students: Returning to Campus this Fall

Dear Students,

The faculty and staff at UNI are excited about welcoming you back to campus this fall. The last few months have been challenging, but we are preparing for a fall semester that will include safe on-campus learning environments for you to continue your college career.

We are planning for students to return to our classrooms and residence halls, and are taking steps to protect your health and safety. As we finalize plans for opening campus, we continue to follow guidelines from the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and the Board of Regents.

Your education this fall will include in-person classes as well as some hybrid experiences that allow flexibility for a variety of student gatherings. As always, your courses will feature exceptional faculty as well as access to peer mentoring support. We will keep your in-person classes as small as possible while building flexible schedules that ensure you experience the community, connection, and academic excellence that are hallmarks of UNI.

The Department of Residence is also looking forward to welcoming students back to campus. Residence hall staff members are enhancing their existing health and safety practices to provide a safe living environment for students. Information on the changes being made can be found on the Department of Residence website. Detailed information about move-in, housing and dining preparations will be posted on the site by July 1.

We will provide additional updates about the return to campus this summer. You can also follow updates as they become available at UNI Forward Together website.

We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
