Many employees have asked about the projected timeline for returning to work on the UNI campus.
With some communities and states reopening restaurants, stores and businesses, it’s important we take time to evaluate regional conditions. We continue to monitor recommendations from the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Black Hawk County Health Department, as well as the Governor’s office regarding how long employees in our area should be advised to work from home. Following this guidance, UNI employees are still encouraged to telework if their positions allow them to. We will provide an update concerning on-campus operations by the end of May or early June.
We recognize that employees will need to make various arrangements concerning child and dependent care once they are asked to return to campus. While we do not know when the campus will reopen, the university will continue to allow employees to telework, based on supervisor approval, until June 15. While we may continue to encourage teleworking past that date, at this time you may plan on teleworking until then.
The university’s priority is to ensure our students and employees stay as healthy as possible as we move through this health pandemic. If you have questions regarding your telework arrangement, contact your supervisor or department head. For leave questions, contact Human Resource Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-273-2422.
