Dear Panther Community,
There's much to be proud of with our outstanding athletics program this past week, which allows us an opportunity to remind everyone attending sporting events that wearing a mask is required in order to keep everyone safe. Your individual efforts make such a difference in our success in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 on our campus.
For those attending Saturday's home football game in the UNI-Dome, please be aware that masks are required to be worn at all times and will be enforced. This includes when visiting the concessions or restrooms inside the concourses, with the sole exception of when consuming food or drink at your seat.
These public safety guidelines are what will allow us to keep hosting events while moving closer to a "new normal" this fall. Thanks for all you do in keeping our entire community safe inside and outside the classroom.
The U.S. hit another milestone in vaccinations this week, reaching a daily average of 2 million people vaccinated per day, the Centers for Disease Control reported today.
Currently in Iowa vaccines are still being distributed primarily in phases 1A and 1B which includes those age 65 and older, as well as those in critical front-line roles. With a third vaccine, now available from Johnson & Johnson, there is hope that the state will be able to expand eligibility.
Additional information is available on the state's vaccination website.
