Forward Together Update

Dear Campus Community,

Thanks to everyone who was a part of our campus vaccination clinic last week! Over 1,000 people received their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Those who participated should return to the West Gym for your second dose as scheduled during the week of May 5th.

Vaccination Progress

If you haven't already been vaccinated against COVID-19 we strongly encourage you to do so now.

The Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines are both available now. Black Hawk County is hosting a community vaccination clinic this weekend (April 24-25). You can register online here.

Most local pharmacies and health care providers in the county are also scheduling appointments. Visit Iowa's vaccination site for more information.

The CDC reports that vaccines are effective in protecting you from getting ill, and people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things they stopped doing due to the pandemic.

Updated CDC guidelines on cleaning

The CDC recently updated its guidelines on cleaning surfaces, finding that they pose a low risk of transmitting COVID-19. UNI continues to follow CDC guidelines and we encourage you to continue to clean your home regularly in accordance with CDC guidelines.

If you have a question, please visit forwardtogether.uni.edu or email it to forwardtogether@uni.edu. Thanks for all that you do to keep yourself, your family and the Panther community safe.

Stay Well,

John Vallentine,
Associate Provost for Faculty
