COVID-19 Booster Update

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends individuals over the age of 18 receive a booster dose vaccine. The CDC recommends booster doses for all three COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States and allows for mix and match dosing for booster shots. The UNI Student Health Clinic will host Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 booster vaccines on-campus clinics for students, faculty, and staff on Thursday, December 2

The Student Health Clinic offers Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 or Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen. You must call the UNI Student Health Clinic COVID-19 phone lines at 319-273-2100 between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday to schedule your appointment. No walk-in appointments are available.

If you need to start your COVID-19 vaccine series, we have appointments available on Thursday 1 p.m.-3 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m.-11 a.m. through the rest of the semester. We also have available the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine booster dose which may be administered at least 2 months after primary vaccination with the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine. Please call 319-273-2100 to schedule your appointment.

The UNI Student Health Clinic will only provide Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 adult dose booster vaccine for students, faculty and staff. If you are not available during these dates and times, need a Moderna vaccine, or need to find a vaccine for a family member, you can locate a healthcare provider or pharmacy near you by visiting vaccine.gov.

Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, reduce the spread of the virus, and help prevent new variants from emerging. Protect yourself and protect those around you. Please consider receiving your vaccine or booster dose to keep our campus healthy and safe.
